The Las Vegas Astronomical Society is an organization of amateur astronomers, formed to promote amateur astronomy in Southern Nevada. The Society was established in July, 1980, and is a non-profit organization, under the auspices of the Community College of Southern Nevada Planetarium, Dr. Dale Etheridge, Director. We hold regularly scheduled meetings, and observation sessions, at which we share information on current astronomical events, tools and techniques for observation, astrophotography, astronomical computer software, and other topics concerning general astronomy. We endeavor to make all of our events open to the public. We also assist, and support, the efforts of other community groups with similar educational and astronomical activities. Membership in the Society is open to the public. Dues are $25.00 per family, per year. All members receive our monthly newsletter.

How to Join ...

If you live in the Southern Nevada area, we would love to have you join our group. First of all... come to a meeting. Get to meet some of the officers and members, as well as other folks, like yourselves, that want to learn more about the sky. Our meetings are open to the public - you are invited. You can pick up an application form at the meeting. We'll also make sure you have a copy of the current newsletter. Alternatively you may print out an application form , fill it out , and mail it in with your dues. The dues are $25.00 per year, per family. You may pay also your dues at any meeting - or mail a check to:
