Education Outreach Program
One of thte major objective of the Las Vegas Astronomical Society is to motivate and develop interest in astronomy within the Las Vegas area. As part of this effort, the Society has developed an Education Outreach Program (EOP) that works with area schools and organizations to promote and facilitate the understanding of astronomy and astronomical tools.
To request LVAS support of your Astronomy-related event, click on the link below; print and complete the LVAS Outreach Support Request Form; and either email or snail-mail it to Rob Lambert at the address indicated on the form. We are working to implement an on-line request form in the very near future.

3975 S Sandhill Road - Presentation for grades 2 & 3, then Sky Tour and Observing
Need one presenter, and 2 members with telescopes to make the most of the 2 hours we'll have with the students and their parents.
Expecting 11 students, 22 parents, and 1 Teacher.
Saturday, February 25, 6-8PM - Girl Scouts at Planetarium
60 Girl Scouts and Leaders to see 6:00PM show and observe Moon and Planets through Observatory telescopes. Need two volunteers to assist.

Tuesday, March 20, 6-8PM, Somerset Academy Science Night
2525 Emerson Ave, Las Vegas, - 200 students and 200 parents - part of round-robin station setup - telescope viewing only. Would like to have 5 volunteers to assist with telescope viewing.
